Baking, for Evonda, has always been more than a skill—it’s a way to express love, preserve memories, and bring people together. She fondly remembers baking with her husband, Earl Smith, in their early days, testing recipes, sharing laughs, and sneaking tastes of frosting when no one was looking. Those moments of joy and togetherness became the foundation for the bakery, shaping every recipe with care, patience, and heart.

A Special Dedication
This bakery is lovingly dedicated to the memory of my husband, Earl Smith, whose love, encouragement, and unwavering belief in me continue to inspire everything I do. I remember how Earl would always remind me to follow my dreams, cheering me on even on the busiest days. Though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on in every creation, every smile, and every celebration that takes place at Smaller Than A Cake.
I also honor my three wonderful children—Endianna, Elijah, and Euri—whose laughter, curiosity, and love are my daily inspiration. From helping me decorate cupcakes with playful sprinkles to tasting new recipes with honest giggles, their presence fills the bakery with warmth and joy. Each child brings their own spark to this journey, and their energy reminds me why I pour my heart into every treat.

My passion for making ice cream began in my childhood kitchen, where I watched my mom lovingly prepare homemade ice cream for our family. I’ll never forget the joy on her face as she watched us light up with excitement over each creamy, flavorful scoop. That simple tradition sparked a lifelong love for creating sweet moments through food.
Years later, when I couldn’t find that same homemade freshness and flavor, my passion for holistic nutrition and wholesome ingredients inspired me to start crafting my own organic ice creams for family and friends. Their smiles and delight brought back the cherished memories of my childhood—and reminded me of the simple joy that comes from sharing something made with love.
That joy and inspiration led to the creamery branch of Smaller Than a Cake, where we proudly create My Organic Original Treats—a line of handcrafted, organic ice creams made with pure ingredients, nostalgic flavor, and a touch of heart. Each scoop is a tribute to tradition, family, and the happiness that only true homemade ice cream can bring.
